Custom Accordian Doors makes a variety of accordian doors; we viewed many interesting products. I want a partition with the ability to see through it, (made of plexiglass); at the same time it will function as a partition to prevent large heat transfer from a very large arizona room.

I have a bi-level townhouse. I want to block off the bottom of the steps leading to the basement because I rescue cats and have to keep some apart. So that opening measures 96″ by 36″ inches. The door will go from right left and it will be attached to the end of the wall on the left side of the steps which opens up to a small finished family room on the left. I want that door to pivot around so I can join it with another set attached to the far wall to block off the family room. My basement front is finished off and then there is a door that opens to the back of the basement that is unfinished, but our laundry room is back there. My sister uses the family room as a bedroom right now and I want to give her some privacy when I go down to the back of the basement to do laundry. That opening to the family room on the left measures 96″ by 54″ wide. So Is this possible and are the doors sturdy enought to keep cats from pushing against the bottom and getting underneath? I don’t know if accordion doors would work, but may bi-fold doors.
